Smoothie Thursday!

Smoothie Day!
  • ·        Students can sign up for smoothies in their classroom.
  • ·        On Thursday mornings students will come to the cafeteria to pick one up to take to the classroom for breakfast or snack. Kindergarten and preschool smoothies will be delivered to their classrooms.
  • ·        16oz fruit and yogurt smoothies with a whole grain are a quick, delicious, nutritious start to the day and a great pick me up snack!
  • ·        For the same cost as a regular breakfast or snack bag!  $1.75 students/ $2.00 adults
  • ·        Served in our new reusable RES Cougar Cups!
Thursday January 29th  flavor is:
Strawberry-Banana Vanilla !

Cabot Yogurt, Monument Farms Milk,
Strawberries, Slopeside Maple Syrup 

Served with a whole grain breakfast snack

The Community Art Project - Unveiled

If you attended the RES Farm to School Harvest Festival in October chances are the you had the opportunity to add you artistic touch to the Community Art Project. The four gorgeous pieces of artwork have received their finishing touches and have been installed on our cafeteria walls for all to admire. Stop by and check them out for yourself...they are truly stunning. Perhaps you can swing by during your child's lunch tomorrow (1/28) and join us for our monthly taste test - PARSNIP CHIPS!

New Pots and Pans for the RES Cafe!

Thanks to the Vermont Healthy Schools Wellness Grant that we received, the RES kitchen is now outfitted with all new stainless steel cookware. Out with the old aluminum pots and in with the new, healthier stainless steel!

Local Lunch at RES!

Today's lunch featured Misty Knoll Chicken, VYCC Butternut Squash & Barley Pilaf, Conant's Corn on the Cob, Monument Farms Milk, Apples from Champlain Orchards and Pears from Washington state. 

Local options on the Salad Bar included: pickled beets from Jericho Settlers Farm, Carrots from VYCC, Onions from VCCC and Cottage Cheese from Cabot Dairy.

Smoothie Day!!

  
  
This morning the RES Cafe delivered more than 160 delicious maple smoothies to students and teachers. These nutritious drinks were made with wonderful local ingredients (all except the bananas!) and are always a favorite breakfast snack.

On the menu for next week are Owl's Head blueberry smoothies. (Blueberries loving picked by the RES community last summer!) Come and get it!!

We still have plenty of RES 2015 Calendars featuring fourth grade artwork and native Vermont birds note cards featuring third grade artwork available! Calendars are $12.00 each and a variety pack of six note cards with envelopes is only $6.00 per pack.
